Wedding Colour Inspiration: Get ready for autumn with shades of pumpkin

Pumpkin spice wedding colour theme

If you’re having an autumnal wedding, shades of pumpkin are the perfect match. Balance it with neutral shades of burgundy, bronze, blush or cream for a stylish colour scheme.

Not everyone wants to get married in the summer and if you’re opting for a fall wedding, then you can tap into more muted, autumnal shades. We’re not talking crazy orange, more a toned-down version - when mixed with more neutral shades it looks super stylish. This pumpkin spice colour scheme also lends itself to incorporating lots of natural elements into the design – think actual pumpkins, dried flowers and pine cones to create a cosy autumnal feel.

Pumpkin colour theme: Bridesmaids

Burnt orange bridesmaids’ dresses definitely make a statement! If all orange dresses are too much for you, try mixing in some darker shades such as burgundy and blush to soften the overall look.

Pumpkin colour theme: Groom

An orange flower button-hole will tie everything in nicely for your groom. If he’s not scared of bright colours, a matching pocket handkerchief or tie finishes the look off perfectly.

A veil is a great way to inject some of your wedding theme colours. This one by Adorn by Ashley in gold with orange flowers is perfect for any fall wedding. Alternatively, you could get a plain veil trimmed with orange flowers.

Another way to inject some colour into your wedding day look is to add a bridal cape, a hair accessory or a floral crown.

Pumpkin colour theme: Flowers

A bouquet full of orange, cream and green looks totally beautiful for any time of the year. This arrangement uses tangerine roses and cute accents of grasses plus lots of lovely eucalyptus. A dried flower bouquet, such as this one, would also work really well for this colour scheme.

Pumpkin colour theme: Decorations

Used sparingly, pumpkins can actually make for very chic wedding decorations. Place them on the table and mix with lots of natural elements to create a chic rustic feel.

Pumpkin colour theme: Cake

This is where you can really go to town on your colour theme. If you want a cake that makes a statement, choose orange fondant to really show your true colours.

For a less in your face design, this one combines splashes of orange and gold for a really contemporary feel.

If you prefer your cakes simpler, add the colour with flowers that echo your pumpkin wedding colour theme.
