Our Anna dress’ namesake, Anna Pavlova, was one of these women, ballet's first ever superstar, like today's supermodels.
Anna, the legendary Russian prima ballerina, was a beautiful, strong and talented performer who danced with an ethereal lightness unlike any ballerina before her. She had perfect balance and moved with such grace, it often look as if her feet never touched the ground.
Pavlova, more than any other dancer, symbolised the ballerina for the 20th century - the dark expressive eyes, the pale oval face surrounded by severely dressed dark hair, the elegant figure and the almost religious dedication to dance. She was a supremely elegant woman, who looked perfectly dressed in the pre-1914 fashions as in those of the 1920s. She was always perfectly dressed and took as much care with her image.
