Five Top tips on the best wedding photography by Winnington & Coe

Winnington & Coe have shared their top tips to getting the best wedding pics of your special day. Known for creating beautiful and modern imagery and films, they recenlty photographed one of our blushing brides, Lizzie who wore the Elsa Ivory dress, a slinky ivory silk slip style wedding dress, with a low back and rouleau straps. We loved the images so much, that we had to ask Winnington & Coe what their best advice would be for our brides.

Winnington & Coe are Elle and Ben. They first got together at the age of 22 after being friends for many years. Having both come from creative backgrounds, and an eye for fine detail and design; they decided to join forces and form a business in photography and moving images. Their imagery is energetic, colourful and expressive imagery to capture all those emotions and allow you to be taken back to your big day whenever you pick up your photos, or watch your video. The most important part of our job is capturing emotion. So smiles, tears, laughter and all those tight bear cuddles… They are your one stop shop for all your wedding imagery needs. Here are their top tips on photography...

Tip 1: Be creative.

London is such a cool and creative city to get married in. And with this in mind, you really don’t need to stick to old wedding traditions if it’s not ‘you’! Plan your day to be super creative with your other half and scrap the things which don’t represent you as a couple. You can make your day unique.

Tip 2. Plan your transport.

Obviously London is a huge buzzing city and so getting a cab last minute can be tricky. Make sure in the morning that you and your bridal party have transport pre booked a few days before so you’re not standing at the side of the road trying to grab a black cab!

Tip 3: Use the city space.

After the ceremony, go for a walk with your photographer and videographer and allow them to capture the madness of the city with you! Capturing some more ‘urban’ feel portraits can look amazing and your photographer will be grateful for the change of pace.

Tip 4: Think outside the box.

There’s loads of amazing warehouses and railway arches which can now be transformed into beautiful and industrial looking reception venues. Ask your wedding planner to look into hiring an empty space and go wild to make it your own (think fairy lights... lots of fairy lights!)

Tip 5: Choose a dress which you can move easily in

If you’re going to walk around the city, it may be easier if you don’t have 15 layers of underskirt! Dresses which are easier to walk in, but still look classic and beautifully bridal, will be easier to move around the busy city streets. This way you’ll feel more relaxed during your portrait session in and around London!
