Real Bride: Jenni, a lace wedding dress and a cool, black leather jacket

Lovely start to the week, to receive these gorgeous photos from a real bride, Jenni, who bought her lace wedding dress from The Wedding Club, Lilian, a bias cut dress worn over a lace overlay, Mistinguett, on her big day. We have the coolest brides. Jenni accessorised her bridal look with a black leather jacket, which is the bride's favourite piece of clothing she found in a vintage store on Brick Lane. Thank you so much Jenni for sharing your photos and wedding with us.

"Dear Sabina,

I wanted to email you and thank you for my amazing wedding dress which I got from The Wedding Club. It was love at the first sight, when I saw this dress. I loved wearing it every single second and it made my wedding day even more perfect. I danced until 7am and didn't want to take it off! Everyone else loved it too and I've done my best to advertise you! Wish you all the best. Kind regards and thanks again, Jenni xx"

The background;

How did you and your husband meet?
We met in Helsinki 7 years ago.

What’s your engagement story?
We got engaged in Istanbul on September 2014.

Where is your engagement ring from? Did your husband choose it himself?
My husband designed my ring. It is from Hatton Garden London.

The planning;

How long did you have to plan your wedding and was it enough time?
We took just under a year to plan it and it was plenty of time. The most difficult thing was to find the venues, but once those were sorted, everything else went smoothly. We are both very laid back and didn't want any stress.

Why did you choose your dress? Which dress did you wear?
I found it in The Wedding Club London. Once I saw my Sabina Motasem dress I couldn't take my eyes off it and was still wearing it 45 mins later while drinking champagne with my girls. The fact you don't want to take it off is a good sign. Girls, it's the same thing as with your husband – when you find THE ONE, you just know!

Why did you choose your venue? Where did you get married?
My husband is from Ireland and I am from Finland, but we've lived together in London. Therefore we always wanted to get married in London. We looked at loads of venue options but managed to find the amazing Stoke Newington Town Hall for the ceremony, The Bleeding Heart Crypt for the reception and the The Arch Gallery for the after party. We absolutely loved our venues.

The memories;

What was your first dance song?
Pulp – Something Changed

How did you feel in your dress?
AMAZING. Didn't want to take it off.

How did you feel just before you walked down the aisle?
That this is exactly how it is meant to be.

How many bridesmaids did you have? Where did you find your bridesmaids dresses from?
I had two bridesmaids. The dresses are from a Finnish designer Ivana Helsinki.

What was your colour scheme or theme?
Navy and burgundy.

What was the best moment of your wedding day?
Everything. The whole wedding was very magical.

What was the funniest thing that happened on the day?
The wedding bus was a hit! The best men were like a stand up double act all day. Their speech was hilarious.

Advice;

What’s your best tip for dressing for the big day you’d like to share with other brides?
I didn't book a hotel as I wanted to stay at home. I had my bridesmaids, the moms, and my aunt and dad with me before the ceremony. Just hanging around with my loved ones at our home while getting ready was the best decision. Just relax and don't stress. Enjoy it all!

What advice would you give to other bride’s planning their wedding?
My advice is to just enjoy the engagement and not stress about the wedding day too much. The point is to have fun and good memories with all of your loved ones. After all it is about the marriage, which is for the rest of your life – not about the one day. And nothing ever go exactly how you plan it anyway, so just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Did you discover any amazing suppliers that you’d like other bride’s to know about?
I was extremely pleased with all the people I used. The hairdresser and the photographer did a fantastic job. The girls from the Brownie box are the best!
Our wedding band the Blurd was also the best -couldn't recommend them more if you're a Blur fan!

Looking back, is there anything you’d change?
Is there anything you wish you knew before you started planning your wedding?
I would have hired a video guy!

What was the most stressful thing about planning your wedding?
That the management for our afterparty place changed twice and I ended having the same meeting with 3 different people -last one the day before the wedding. Everything went perfectly in the end though.

Finally;

What 3 words would you use to describe your wedding day?
Emotional, Fun, Unique
