The background;
How did you and your husband meet?
I first met Piaras in work.
What’s your engagement story?
We went to Rome during summer 2013 and we went out for dinner one night. On the way back we stopped off at St. Peter's Basilica where we had toured that morning. To my surprise Piaras got down on one knee and popped the question! I said yes of course!
Where is your engagement ring from? Did your husband choose it himself?
My engagement ring and wedding band are from Tower Jewellers in Blanchardstown, Co Meath
The planning;
How long did you have to plan your wedding and was it enough time?
We had 18 months and it was plenty. It was a nice and relaxed timeframe and it also allowed us time to take a trip to Rome prior the wedding to organise everything.
Why did you choose your dress? Which dress did you wear?
I chose my dress because it was elegant and timeless. I was also looking for a dress that was nice and light for sunny Rome!
Why did you choose your venue? Where did you get married?
We got married in Rome . We got engaged there and it meant so much to us. We immediately fell in love with the Pontifical Irish college chapel and its surroundings. Rome is such a romantic city and you get a special feeling when you are there.
The memories:
What was your first dance song?
That's Amore!
How did you feel in your dress?
Like a princess!
How did you feel just before you walked down the aisle?
I was so excited, I couldn't stop smiling!
How many bridesmaids did you have? Where did you find your bridesmaids dresses from?
We had no formal bridesmaids or groomsmen. We had two Witnesses, my sister Eimear and Piaras' brother John.
What was your colour scheme or theme?
We had no colour scheme. Since we were abroad it was a little more freestyle, so we told our guests the more colourful the better!
What was the best moment of your wedding day?
Walking with my mam and dad to greet Piaras at the top of the aisle.
What was the funniest thing that happened on the day?
We had great laughs and fun taking the photographs at the Colesseum!

No, it was an amazing journey to go on and we met lovely people along the way.

Having it in Rome made it no fuss as weddings over there are very relaxed. We had plenty of time and planned it out as a day we'd enjoy ourselves.
