The Ultimate List of Vegan and Cruelty-Free Makeup Brands

Spectrum

Here it is- our ultimate list of 100%, completely vegan makeup brands for 2022.

You may be asking yourself- aren’t all companies that are vegan already cruelty-free?

The short answer is this: not necessarily!

Although some companies may brand themselves as vegan and/ or cruelty-free, sometimes their parent company isn’t!

Also, some makeup brands claim to be cruelty-free, where none of their products or ingredients are tested on animals. However, their products may contain animal-derived ingredients or by-products.

This list below includes makeup brands that have been verified to not conduct or commission any animal testing on their ingredients, formulations, or finished products- anywhere in the world. This also includes not selling their cosmetics products in stores in mainland China under conditions where animal testing may be required by law. In addition, brands included on this list must only offer vegan products. This means absolutely no animal-derived ingredients or by-products are used —in any and all of their products!

What Makes a Product Vegan?

Here are some common animal products found in makeup:

Makeup

Carmine, beeswax, pearl powder, animal-derived fatty acids, and animal hair used for makeup brushes.

The vegan makeup brands on this list do not test on animals and do not use any animal-derived ingredients or by-products in any of their products.

Feel entirely confident shopping at these ethical brands listed below- either for your bridal makeup or just for everyday use!

Why Shop Vegan?

At Sabina Motasem, we think it's very important to continue to revolutionise not only our brand, but our daily lives and habits as well. To live a cruelty-free and eco-conscious lifestyle, we want to support brands that do not test on animals. We also want to make sure that none of the ingredients in these cosmetics were cruelly obtained from animals- choosing cosmetics and personal care products made without a single, animal-based ingredient is the best way to ensure no animals were harmed.

Also, by choosing to support and buy from these 100% vegan brands, it shows there is a growing consumer demand for vegan products and that running a truly vegan company is sustainable and profitable. This will hopefully urge other brands to go entirely vegan as well.

Do you use any of the brands mentioned above? Were you suprised to see your favourite brand didn't make the cut? We'd love to hear yur thoughts!

Until next time,

Emily
