Make the simple switch to sustainable household products

How to Create an Eco-Friendly Home

The urgent importance of climate change has been a worldwide speaking point over the last few months. Seen through initiatives like COP26 (the UN Climate Change Conference 2021), Team Seas, and many others globally, the time for humanity to change our habits is now.

Making the change to eco-friendly, sustainable products may seem daunting. There are a lot of misconceptions that green products aren’t as effective and are more costly, but that just isn’t the case!

We’ve found and tested out a variety of household essentials from three amazing companies that pride themselves on being green, sustainable, and eco-friendly. Keep reading to find out our top picks!

Seep

The Seep Company- Products

The first company we’re currently obsessed with is Seep. Seep (an acronym for Sustainable Everyday Essential Products) focuses on the “overlooked” section of the cleaning aisle.

Seep has committed to reducing and offsetting their carbon footprint by partnering with the Swiss reforestation charity, On A Mission.

Seep's sustainable products including cloths, towels, sponges, and bin bags. Seep offers 100% plastic-free and compostable/ biodegradable cleaning products that are a great alternative to the products you’re currently using.

We recommend trying out Seep's compostable sponges, their compostable bin bags, and their all-natural loofah cloths. Seep also has super convenient bundles if you end up wanting to make a switch to their products. Choices include their Mini Cleaning Bundle (£16), 6 Month Plastic-Free Cleaning Starter Pack (£28), or the Seep Mega Sustainable Bundle (£85), (as pictured below).

Smol Dishwashing Tablets

The second company we’re in love with is smol. smol donates product to those in need of clean clothes, including projects with primary schools and homeless organisations.

Eco-friendly and cruelty-free, smol took two years to develop their unique formulation. Available in both bio and non-bio formulas, smol is proven to perform just as great as leading brands.

smol offers free trials on all of their products (you just have to cover the £1 for postage).

The dishwashing tablets, pictured above, come in a 30-tablet pack that costs just £4.60.

Smol Laundry Capsules

smol's 24-capsule laundry pack costs just £4.50.

smol also offers 100% animal-fat free fabric conditioner, non-toxic surface sprays, hand sanitiser, and even a starter kit that will only set you back £25.

Who Gives a Crap

Who Gives a Crap Recycled Toilet Paper

Last but certainly not least is Who Gives a Crap.

The company was founded with the premise of giving back, and they donate 50% of their profits to help build toilets and improve sanitation in the developing world.
