Supplier Spotlight: The Glass House, Hackney Venues

Sabina Motasem

At Sabina Motasem, we've had lots of our brides plan their weddings in East London - and many more have been looking there for their perfect wedding venue for this year and the next!

We are grateful to have met and worked with so many talented creatives and amazing suppliers over the years- and our latest shoot was no exception! We're going to do a 'Supplier Spotlight' blog post for each creative involved in this shoot, and this week we're starting with Hackney Venues! We are swoooooooning over Hackney’s latest wedding and events venue, The Glass House, and are sure you will too!

The Glass House, Hackney Venues

The Glass House is Hackney's brand-new 150 capacity purpose-built wedding and event venue, located in the heart of Springfield Park (E5 9EF). Built on the same site as the park's original Victorian glass house, this state-of-the-art venue is a bright and breathtaking space. The Glass House is perfect for weddings, civil ceremonies, community classes, meetings and special events all year round. Keep reading to see the fabulous space and its features!

The Glass House has many features and facilities that will help make this space perfect for your special day. The building has multiple retractable skylights, allowing you to control the lighting of the space. The natural light that pours through the skylights gives the feeling of an outdoor space while having the security of cover- all with the press of a button! There are lovely exposed beams throughout the venue that beautifully contrast against the warmness of the wood.

We went for a chic, stylish and modern vibe for this space. We played off the cool, metal accents with a softer palette of whites and pastels. We loved how the greenery of the florals looked against the super unique, wood ceilings.

The best part? (As if you haven't heard enough!) If you book the Orchard Room, you'll have exclusive access to The Glass House's private courtyard to really immerse yourself into the park's natural beauty. The courtyard is very spacious and features a lovely brick wall from the adjacent building, perfect for a versatile outdoor space for your wedding reception.

Capacity: Standing - 150; Seated dinner - 150

Sky Room

The Sky Room felt so special to us! The warmth of the wood, the exposed black beams, and the natural light flooding through the skylight made for a beautiful, modern backdrop. Along with the skylight, there are windows and doors around the venue that you are allowed to open and close for different lighting options. The clever design of the doors and windows makes the space more open and allows guests to enjoy the sounds and sights of Springfield Park during their celebrations. This space can be decorated in SO many ways- perfect for any style or vibe of your event. From rustic to classic, modern to natural, to romantic or architectural - The Glass House will be a beautiful canvas for your wedding!
