Pantone colours of the year has been running for over 20 years and it influences products across the design industry, such as Fashion, Interiors and graphic design. This year's Pantone colours are a combination of two contrasting colours ‘Ultimate Grey’ and ‘Illuminating Yellow’ which is described as:
“A marriage of colour conveying a message of strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting”.
After a tough year due to the global pandemic the yellow shows there are brighter days ahead, to be hopeful, positive and optimistic. Whilst the grey provides the solid foundation to encourage and assure us to put our best foot forward.
"The union of an enduring Ultimate Gray with the vibrant yellow illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude. Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a colour combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted; this is essential to the human spirit." - Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute (mentioned on the Pantone website)
One way to incorporate these pantone colours and add a pop of colour is with nail polish. I have a big selection of different shades and I always find it uplifting when I have freshly painted nails.
There a range of nail polish brands that are Vegan friendly and have options similar to this years pantone colours – Yellow and Grey. They work well for this Spring Summer season and a refreshing way to incorporate these colours on your wedding day especially if your dress and accessories are in neutral shades.
